As the Chief People Officer of the National Basketball Association (NBA), Sabrina Ellis oversees all aspects of the league's HR strategy across its offices in 15 markets around the world including the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. With a background in systems, Sabrina has spent her career using a data-centered approach to develop programs and initiatives to advance organizations and people in business, education, research and sport.
Prior to joining the NBA, Sabrina spent 25 years in top HR positions within the higher education arena at New York University (NYU), the George Washington University and the City University of New York - City College. While at NYU, she led the Global HR function supporting an employee population of 26,000 in 13 countries spanning the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Ellis earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from NYU. In 2002, Sabrina was honored by New York University's School of Professional Studies with the Distinguished Alumni Award.
