Matt Wolf currently serves as Chief Data and Analytics Officer at the National Basketball Association where he is responsible for overseeing the league’s Global Data Strategy, Business Intelligence and Solutions, and Consumer Insights functions. He previously served as the NBA’s Head of Global Strategy & Innovation, focusing on Growth & Innovation Strategy and Strategic Initiatives & Operations in addition to overseeing Data Strategy & Analytics.
Prior to dedicating his time to league-level initiatives, Wolf helped lead the NBA’s Team Marketing & Business Operations (TMBO) department, a group responsible for growing NBA, WNBA, NBA G League and NBA 2K League team profitability through strategic consulting on all aspects of business operations, and oversaw that group’s Ticketing, Partnerships, Marketing & Digital, Strategy & Analytics, and Department Operations teams. He originally began his NBA career as a member of the league’s Strategic Development department, working on league-level strategic initiatives including collective bargaining, media rights negotiations and international expansion planning.
Before joining the NBA, Wolf spent time as a member of The Walt Disney Company’s Corporate Strategy, Business Development & Technology group.
Wolf holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree in Operations Research & Financial Engineering from Princeton University, where he was a member of the varsity Sprint (Lightweight) Football team.
A native of Long Island, New York, Wolf currently resides in Long Island City with his wife, Erica, and daughter, Whitney.
