As Head of International Strategy & Operations at the National Basketball Association, Leah MacNab works closely with NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum and the league’s regional heads to drive short- and long-term business growth in key international markets.  Prior to assuming her current role in September 2024, MacNab spent five years as Managing Director of NBA Canada, where she was responsible for the development and growth of the league’s business in Canada, including television and digital media, marketing and retail partnerships, licensing, special events and basketball development.  The league’s revenue and marketable database in Canada grew significantly under her leadership.

MacNab previously served as NBA Canada’s Senior Director of Global Marketing Partnerships, where she led new business, strategy and relationship management for the league’s marketing partners in Canada.  She oversaw a record-setting year for NBA viewership, marketing partnerships and merchandise sales in Canada during the 2018-19 season and played a significant role in the league’s biggest events in the country – including the league’s NBA Canada Series.  MacNab received the Canadian Sports Business “5 to Watch” Award in 2018, recognizing her as one of the top sports executives in Canada under 40 years old.

MacNab sits on the Board of Canada Basketball and is an Advisor to the Future of Sport Lab.  She is passionate about creative thinking, marketing, women’s empowerment and food.  A graduate of the University of Toronto, MacNab also has a postgraduate marketing certificate from Ryerson University.
