As President of Content & Executive Producer at the NBA, Gregg Winik oversees the development and production of game telecasts and programming on all platforms, including content within the NBA’s direct-to-consumer offerings and through distribution partnerships.

Under Winik and the NBA content team, the reimagined NBA App launched in September 2022 and generated nearly four billion video views. The growth was driven by the integration of social media-inspired vertical video content, expanded alternate telecast streams and acclaimed original programming, produced exclusively for the app.

Winik has more than 30 years of experience in developing, producing and distributing sports content, including 16 years with NBA Entertainment (1990-2006).  During his tenure with the NBA, Winik has led the NBA’s content initiatives across all media platforms, managed relationships with the league’s television partners, oversaw the launch of NBA TV and supervised original programming such as NBA Inside Stuff, which was recognized by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024 with the Curt Gowdy Transformative Media Award.  Notably, he played an instrumental role in capturing hours of footage during the Chicago Bulls’ 1997-98 championship season and overseeing production for the 2020 Emmy Award-winning documentary series The Last Dance.

Prior to rejoining the league in 2022, Winik operated Winik Media, an independent production studio and partner for media companies, sports leagues and teams.  Winik Media also created CineSport, the industry’s first digital video content and technology platform that powered the sports sections of hundreds of well-known newspaper websites, including the Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer and New York Post.
